Laura Drake Cole
Never disappointing , Laura dug in and swam 1.2 miles, biked 56 miles & ran 13.1 miles for another amazing finish in the May 12th Gulfcoast 70.3. located in Panama City. This was a hot day with over 1600 competitors but Laura managed to claim 3rd in her age division which qualified her for Worlds 70.3 in S.Africa.
- You would think Laura would need a rest but she got back at it only one week later to claim 1st Master in the SpringLake 10k on a very hilly course!! Congratulations Laura, amazing!!💪🏆
Shelly Gornick Allen
Next up to make her mark, Shelly flew out to Portland, Oregon to race at the historic and impressive Hayward Field in the Oregon Twilight Meet on May 4th. Shelly ran the 3000 & captured an impressive 1st place!!
Not finished yet, she jumped over to the Atlanta Georgia Relays on May 26-27th to wow everyone with a Masters PR in the 1500 of 5:28.17 and the next day managed an 11:47.78 in the 3000, less than 1 second away from another Masters PR in that distance. Impressive!!🏆💪
Keeping up with her teammates in having a spectacular May, Lesley didn’t travel far to participate in her hometown of Atlanta with 3 different races.
First on the list was her May 8th participation in the Atlanta Track Club Grand Prix Mile where she claimed a nice 5:47.93.
To keep things rolling she next raced in the Mariest Mile for a 5:44 on May 19th.
Then to finish out the month Lesley left her field in the dust & captured the gold in the 1500m with an amazing 5:18.36 on day one of the Atlanta Georgia Relays and for some icing on the May cake she scored a nice 2:38.01 the last day of competition in the 800m. Nice bling Lesley, amazing racing!!💪🏆
No photos unfortunately 😢but she definitely raced. Having taken a couple of months off, the New Balance Tampa team captain jumped up to participate in the Atlanta Georgia Relays and claimed a nice gold in the 1500m with a time of 5:20.75, 1 second off her PR from 2 years ago. Great job!! 💪🏆
And that’s a wrap……💪🏆🏅
