March 2018

Lesley Hinz – World Record Holder

In her own words:

“2018 USATF Indoor National Championships, March 16-18

First up for me was the 1400m on the first day. I won in 1:09.47, a season best for me and a great way to celebrate my 60th birthday.

I scratched the 1500 on Saturday to save myself for the 800m on Sunday. I won the 800m setting a new W60-64 World Indoor Record running 2:36.57.

We flew home on Sunday afternoon then the following day we drove to Winston-Salem, NC for a Tuesday night meet. On Tuesday March 20, I won the Mile setting a new W60-64 World Indoor Record running 5:43.75.

The icing on the cake was being named USATF athlete of the week.” – Lesley Hinz
